.png) The staff conducts site and building plan review, issues building permits and inspects buildings during and after construction for compliance with state and local law. The planning office manages the city’s Geographical Information System (G.I.S.) which provides electronic mapping of facilities, utilities, property and zoning boundaries throughout Bedford. The planning office provides administrative assistance for filings of rezoning, land use variances, special exceptions and subdivision plats.
The Planning & Zoning office oversees code enforcement for such things as, building and fire inspections, issues involving residential and commercial buildings. This office also is responsible for code enforcement on issues of high grass, weeds and complaints involving unsightly debris. Office hours are 8am-4pm Mon-Fri, except holidays.
