With the enactment of SEA 1 (2025) and HEA 1210 (2026), significant reforms have been introduced to increase local flexibility and formalize the negotiation process. The intent of this meeting is to establish the purpose, goals, and framework for the taskforce as it begins evaluating Local Income Tax (LIT) options and their potential impact on Lawrence County local government. The taskforce has been formed to provide a collaborative forum for municipal leaders and stakeholders to review financial information, discuss available alternatives, and work toward informed recommendations that reflect the needs and priorities of the county.
